Cats With Thumbs

Why wouldn’t you share?

Objectives, Death Row Dogs, And Houses on The Move

It was another successful week on the writing front, as I finished chapter two, started chapter three and reached my target of 3,000 words for the week to Friday. I am sitting at just over 9,600 words, which feels great. I can’t wait to clock over 10,000 words this weekend. ALthough the studying has not gone as well, as I keep get distracted by writing. Can’t say I am too upset by that, but must do better. :-)

Death Row Dog AKA Candy is settling into the family quite nicely. Her and Pooch have a lovely time playing together, and the eldest tornado child wants both to be sleeping in his room with him.

The house moving is a step closer as we have verbally accepted an offer on the land, and next week we will sign the paper work. We are starting to book in the various contractors, with the first date we need confirmed being the septic tank/water crew, as they need to be finished before the house moves on.

Death Row Dog On The Loose

So the Death Row Dog looks like she will have a more permanent reprieve than two weeks. :-)

The only trouble is she is a bit of an escape artist.

The EIC was on the bike with smallest tornado child and heading off to pick up largest mischief, when she heard a pant, pant, pant beside her, and looking down there was a happy dog going for a wee walk.  Unsurprisingly Candy is a bit nervous about being left alone.

So, we have set up a rope as a temporary run line. Now we will need to look for a kennel and run. We found this one called “Mutt Manor” at RD1 but the price is a bit prohibitive. We might have to just see what we can find second-hand on Trade Me.

Madness: Death Row Dog On Trial

Candy: Death Row Dog!

So in our latest mad, spur of the moment, lunacy we have rescued a dog from the pound!

Candy, a pure breed Golden Labrador, who is between one and half and three years old, has had a last-minute reprieve, when we heard she was due to go the heavenly kennels. Instead she has come home for a two week ”trial” with us.

Hmmmm… The boys thinks she is wonderful!
